Experimental Games

Experimental Games is an innovative method to prototype games. This technique was started in Carnegie Mellon University in 2005. They set rules for the method.

  1. Each game must be made in less than seven days.
  2. Each game must be made by exactly one person.
  3. Each game must be based around a common theme.
One of the famous games from this method is World of Goo. Such a similar class was started in University of Utah in 2016. I am the part of the first class here. Every two weeks, our professor gives us a theme and we have to develop a game for it. The themes as the class progresses will be updated below.

Themes

  1. Pointillism - Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism.
